Equal to any good business transaction is the impact it has on the wider society and recently I had the pleasure of making a real difference to a family. After completing a refurbishment of a 4 bedroom house in Southampton, we advertised the house for rent and had various applications.
One of the applications was from a single lady with 4 children, currently living in a tiny 2-bedroom council property with a low fence alongside a busy road. This meant the children had no space of their own and they couldn’t even play in the garden because of the danger of the open fencing. How terrible, what sort of life did they have crammed in such a tiny space without any personal space!?
We just knew - this was the one. It was one of those decisions which didn’t need making, it was clear that this family would really benefit from this house. I was there on the moving in day - not really for any paperwork, more to see their faces. The children were amazed and so excited, it was like Christmas for them - it was emotional but so very rewarding knowing that I had an opportunity to help this poor family.
I just thought I’d share this story, it’s great to know that once in a while above and beyond all of the commercial deals we work on - you can make a real difference to the day to day living of a family.
